BoSoma Dance Company - October 18, 2011
BoSoma, established in 2003 by Co-Artistic Directors and Choreographers, Katherine Hooper and Irada Djelassi, is a Boston-based contemporary dance company combining vibrant, energetic movement with athletic performance quality. Their objective as a company is to create dance that intrigues, excites, and inspires people ??? to think, listen, react, and move in a new and open way. BoSoma will perform excerpts from Marionette, which was created upon the idea of being attached and controlled by our surroundings, societal status symbols, as well as financial needs, despite our true passions. The company will also premier a new work by the renowned David Dorfman. ???vigorously athletic and artistically sculptural???the dancers looked as if they were ready to explode at a moment's notice, moving with coiled intensity and kinetic pop through eye-catching patterns.??? ~Karen Campbell, Boston Globe. http://www.bosoma.org

Cordis Music

Cordis Music - April 3, 2012
For over a decade the contemporary quartet Cordis has been redefining contemporary chamber music by fusing an original combination of custom-made and traditional ethnic instruments to create their signature sound. Although the ensemble is built upon cello (Jeremy Harman), concert cimbalom (Richard Grimes), piano (Oscar Rodriguez), and percussion (Andrew Beall) - one-of-a-kind creations such as the electric mbira, melodica, and the world???s longest playing cylinder-driven music box also have a way of weaving their way into any given performance. Time Out New York said, "(Cordis) makes a strong case for both sides of its musical personality - expanding the boundaries of chamber music." NewMusicBox.com concurred, "Cordis offers an intriguing mix of instrumentation, and Grimes uses them well to show of his unique perspective on 21st century chamber music." http://cordismusic.com/
